Hi, my name is Loren and I'm a photography / film enthusiast based in Rogers Park.
I shoot 35mm, 120 and am about to resume 4x5 and I guess I'll see what happens!
~
I'm just about to wrap up 2 years managing Precision Camera Works, a repair shop that services medium, large format, and panoramic film cameras. It has been an amazing, fulfilling, and unique job I could only dream of. Over this time I've amassed a lot of resources and knowledge of film cameras.
I want to share these facts and help keep film alive as much as possible. No better place to start than making sure your camera is functioning and working properly.
DISCLAIMER: I have not personally used most of these repair services and would encourage you to further research to fit your needs. Most of these have been recommended to me during my time at PCW when speaking with clients.
Precision Camera Works for Arca Swiss (Authorized Repair Center), Cambo, Hasselblad V series, Linhof, Mamiya Legacy ( C220 / C330 TLRs, 645, 6/7/7II, RB/RZ67 ), Noblex, Sinar, Widelux, most large format cameras and leaf shutters. Bob only services the Fuji G690 and the G617 panoramic camera, no other models due to lack of parts.
Bob unfortunately does not repair any 35mm cameras outside of the Widelux, Noblex, and Hasselblad X-Pan / Fuji TX-1.
Linhof - LAFLEX Camera Service
Leica
Minolta - TBA
Polaroid Repair - Brooklyn Film Camera
At this time I do not know any other 35mm repair services, do you?
I hope we can work together to create a concrete list for everyone's reference. :)
